In the language of geometric abstraction, this series reflects the creole mixedness of Caribbean culture. Through both strong and subtle, unremarkable color contrasts, the imagery embodies the beauty of light and dark while using color to critique our pigmentocracy. The unfolding and folding of a geometrically derived flower refers to the perpetual, universal cycle of birth, life, and death.
